Any one else noticing this

you clear down a line of forum topics, come back a short while later and a topic is showing as unread from hours previously, you know full well you have read the topic, yet it doesn't have a new time to move it to the top of the list.

Is it just being awkward, is the serving out of whack, any other theories or proofs?
